Our History

Vincent Bushell formed Brighter Homes, a family run organisation, in 1966.

During its 50-year history, the company has developed from engaging in contracts for individuals to providing full project management and partnerships with larger companies and local authorities.

In 1975, Colin Bushell joined the company and his brother Ian joined him a few years later. Colin became a Director in 1985 and subsequently, the company has grown from strength to strength as a result of their detailed planning and change of company structure to concentrate on carrying out successful commercial works.

During the earlier years, Brighter Homes formed a relationship with IND Coope, providing specialist work on public Houses as the company had been working on a number of independent inns and other group owned houses. The company then developed a partnership with many other commercial clients. It was during this time that Brighter Homes developed a further understanding of the complexities and special requirements that are required when working on individual projects.

Brighter Homes developed further when Scott Lee joined the team in 1988 as the Contracts Director. The past 20 years has cemented a fundamental relationship and an increased knowledge of the sector.

The company’s main aim is to continue to develop long working relationships with clients and provide a seamless partnership with all parties involved.
